Hair Barrettes

I just finished making the Purl Soho Rose Barrette from felt.
I love it!
I'm excited to make a few more of each style
now that I have the hang of it.
Too bad my kid doesn't have any hair!

I thought I would take a picture of the other versions we made at the reunion.
-The green flower was a prototype given to me from a friend.
-The two light yellow are made by Liesl.
(I wasn't supposed to come home with TWO.
That was a mistake and I didn't know I had a second with me
until last night when I pulled them out of my little bag.)
-I made the light pink flower, the multi color barrette,
and also the 3-D rosette Purl Soho pattern.

I hope that you keep that long thread attached to the 3-d rose one. The long thread adds just that extra charm.

where did you end up buying the clips?

The tiny ones that go in the round felt flowers and the other two larger size felt barrettes were bought at Wal-Mart, but could probably also be found at Target or a grocery store. (Although, the really small size I only found at Walmart.) The liesl rosettes with tulle use a different alligator clip that I don't have. I think liesl gets them at a beauty supply store. Today I hot glued one of those yellow rosettes to an elastic headband and it's super cute.

Oh, and the long thread is still on the 3-d rosette because I've not had a chance for it to be worn. Juliana still needs more hear to pull that one off. (or anything not on a headband)
